Nut Balls

Joe added another version of the sweet nut balls, so we changed it up a little. That's Joe Thunder on the label.

Sweet Nut Balls

My brother, Joe from the Corner Store, is now making these really good little healthy candy nut balls. They're not really candy, they're more like a soy-butter ball w/fruits and nuts mixed in and sprinkled w/coconut flakes. They're out of this fucking world. So I'm working on a logo for them. I really wanted to put 'sweet nut balls' on the label, but he didn't think that would be a good selling point.

Some online props to the Wren fashion preeeeeees

Pics from Wren fashion presentation on JC Report AND style.com
with the birdcages in the background...see I told you they'd be famous.

My copyrighted snaps from the Wren Show

Pictures from the Wren Autumn/Winter '08 collection. The party was super fun + the birdcages I drew added a jaunty animated feel to the space. The girls stood in front of them + they got lots of pictures taken, so hopefully the birdcages will become famous.

Art + Prop Production for 'The Soloist'

New pieces I've been doing for a movie based on a homeless man in downtown LA. These are props for 'The Soloist' that's in production right now. Talk about a fun fun fun fun fun project! Totally informing my own work with the freedom + text. I guess I was asked to work on this project because of my work, though, so a little symbiotic relation ship of informing + influence. Have to thank the lovely + talented Sean Daly!

New Paintings

Skylight Books is stepping up

Handmade sign project for Skylight Books. This is totally hand painted. By me. Ought to be finished painting the rest of the 5,000,000 sections by next year. Check them out on Vermont Ave between Franklin + Hollywood (Los Angeles, people) or online.

Blue Tooth

Where are you, blue tooth painting? I made 2 of these paintings (one blue + one pink) for an 'SF Show' at New Image Art. Then they went to a gallery in Long Beach. I wonder what ever came of them? The LBC gallery closed + I haven't been able to get the word on the whereabouts of the art...cool. I did get to paint a gigantic whale on the wall + the whale's teeth looked like the little bumps seen here in the painting, so maybe that's the trade off.

Yes, that's me. That is too. And that.

You may have realized that I use this blog to host images that I can imbed in other places. That said, here are some 'Amy Jo' images. The 1st one is a drawing I used for Helio Magazine's Contributor page. I made it for the issue that featured the 2nd drawing (those are silhouettes of Parker Posey). 3rd picture is what I look like when I'm dreaming. Oh, wait the 3rd image is
HA RD
LU CK
HE RO, which was a moniker I started using when I worked at Skylight Books. It's funny because I nabbed it out of a quote from that movie about the racehorse. I can't remember the name of the movie, I didn't watch it, I'm not a horsey kind of person. We all know girls that were fanatical about horses. I've never been that kind.
Anyways, I did like this one quote part of a quote from that movie, '...Hard Luck Hero for a Troubled Nation...'. Someone left it as a message on my answering machine + it stuck.
Ok, so back to the pictures...the last one is a great picture of the little squiggly thing that hangs down in the back of your throat. This picture reminds me of the Schultz drawings of the Peanuts characters when they were yelling.

Heart Asteroids

This is the image I chose for my website . I have to animate one of the hearts so visitors can click on it to be forwarded here, to the b-l-o-g.

Light Shiner

Please come + see all the fun things that I have in store! Notice the Edward Gorey Font over an Amy Jo original drawing of a flashlight. I know, I'm a genius.

Flamenco ghost images from The Colombia

Ok. I'm totally into using my camera now. You'll get a lot more of these ghost pictures in the future, I promise. I have about 200 of them. I am going to try to make a movie, so be on the look out....just have to figure out movie time in the ol' mac.

Here are some of my drawings + paintings. Most of them live in Paris now, but I make new ones all the time.
